Carlos Tavora and his wife Mary live in Spokane, Washington. Leonard met Carlos when both were professors in the School of Engineering at Gonzaga University in the early 90s. The friendship has endured. Teresa, their daughter, has become the 14th grandchild in the Hale family. Carlos hasn't retired though clearly over-the-hill. Teresa is now a grammar- school teacher in Tucson, Arizona.
